Do estheticians still need a website if they have Instagram?

Instagram is where people discover you. Your website is where they decide. You need both, for different reasons.

Instagram is wonderful for estheticians. Your work is visual, before and after photos speak for themselves and new clients can find you through a reel shared by a friend. So it is fair to ask whether a website is still worth it.

Our answer is yes, and not because a website replaces Instagram. They do different jobs.

Instagram is for being seen

People scroll, discover you and start to trust your work. That is a lot. But a profile is built for browsing, not for deciding. Your prices are spread across highlights, your treatments are explained in captions from months ago and the way to book depends on someone sending a message.

A website is for deciding and booking

When someone is ready, they want answers in one place: which treatment is right for their skin, how long it takes, what it costs, what to expect afterwards, and how to book. A website lets you organize all of that once, so you are not answering the same questions in your messages every day.

It also keeps working when you are with a client and cannot reply.

Google sends you a different kind of client

Someone who searches "facial near me" or "esthetician for acne in [your city]" already wants to book. Instagram rarely shows up for those searches. A website with clear service pages and your location can, together with your Google Business Profile.

You own it

An algorithm change can cut your reach overnight, and an account can be locked without warning. Your website and your domain stay yours. It is the one place online where nothing decides who sees your work except you.

How the two work together

  • Use Instagram to show your work and your personality.
  • Use your website to explain treatments, show prices and take bookings.
  • Link to your services page in your bio, not just your homepage.
  • Mention your website in stories when you talk about a treatment.
Instagram makes people curious. Your website gives them a clear way to say yes.

Questions estheticians ask

A link page is a helpful start, but it has no room to explain your treatments, show results with context or answer questions. It also does not appear on Google the way a real website does.

A homepage, a services page with treatments and prices, an about page and a simple way to book. That is enough to start.

Your Google Business Profile is what appears on Maps. Linking it to a website with your services and address helps Google understand and trust your business.

A website that books clients while you work.

Website in a Day, from $497.
